The educational program "Physics", profile - condensed matter physics is aimed at developing a deep specialism and/or broad knowledge across a physics-related area; program alumnus are able to carry out complex tasks in a fully flexible and adaptable manner and to apply knowledge in a broad range of condensed matter physics contexts within accepted practice. The Master degree students receive experimental experience, performing practical works on modern high-tech equipment, acquire the skills of synthesis and analysis of innovative functional materials, as well as listening and mastering the material of special courses on modern experimental methods. The graduate of the program is distinguished by their profound knowledge in the field of materials science (synthesis and physics of crystalline and nanostructured materials, semiconductors, magnetic materials, magnetic films, high-temperature superconductivity etc), by the experience of using high-energy radiation (X-ray and gamma-radiation). The entire field of professional activities covers theoretical and experimental studies, computer modelling and practical use of the structures and properties of Nature at various levels of their organization ? from atomic nuclei, elementary particles to modern quantum, smart and functional materials, their unusual properties and interactions with fields and particles, underlying physics of the properties and their applications. For the implementation of the educational process, the new research laboratories (Synthesis and Analysis of Thin-film Systems, Production and Processing of Functional Nanomaterials, Physics of Magnetic Nanostructures and Spintronics etc.) have been created at the Institute of Physics of KFU. For young scientists, there is an opportunity for internships in leading domestic scientific centers and abroad. The experience of practical research work provides graduates the ability to oversee the technical aspects of projects, preparing for cooperation with industry and a broader physical community. The acquired skills and abilities will be in demand by leading research centers, design bureaus and high-tech industries, universities and institutions of high and secondary professional education, IT companies, research and production enterprises that develop and study new promising materials, new devices including quantum and nanoscale devices.
